About the Role & Program:
Disney Entertainment's eight-owned ABC stations are multiplatform leaders in local news and information. ABC11 is the only local news station in North Carolina with downtown newsrooms in Raleigh, Durham and Fayetteville. ABC11 Eyewitness News provides breaking news, First Alert weather and everything you need to know 24 hours a day on ABC11.com, the ABC11 mobile news app, Disney+ app and everywhere you stream.

The ABC11 news internship for Spring 2027 is designed for students who want to understand how a story moves from the anchor desk to every screen, reaching audiences across platforms. Interns will work directly alongside anchors and digital producers to assist in producing stories, creating original content, and engaging with our audience on social networks. This is an ideal opportunity for a student interested in broadcast journalism, digital media, multimedia storytelling, or on-air talent development. All candidates must be willing to work 18 hours a week during a Monday through Sunday schedule. The schedule may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications & Skills:

Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
-
Experience using non-linear editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer, and/or Final Cut Pro.

Proficiency with Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or similar graphic design software.
-
Experience capturing photo and/or video content using DSLR or comparable camera equipment.

Experience in journalism (print, digital, and/or broadcast) and/or television, news, or new media production.
Education:
-
Undergraduate students in their junior or senior preferred.
-
Major or previous coursework in Broadcast Journalism, Digital Media, Communications, Multimedia Journalism, or related field.
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
-
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.

Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.

Be at least 18 years of age
-
Possess unrestricted work authorization
Additional Information:

Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship

Fully available from January 2027 through June 2027

All candidates must be willing to work 18 hours a week during a Monday through Sunday schedule (hours and days to be determined by your supervisor, and could include nights, weekends, and holidays)

Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the Raleigh/Durham NC area

Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work in the Raleigh/Durham NC area

The pay rate for this role in North Carolina is $20.00 per hour.
