TITLE: Senior Software Engineer

LOCATION: 2 Gateway Center, Newark, NJ 07102

SALARY: From $166,000 to $170,000 per year

DUTIES: Design, develop, test, and troubleshooting code for existing and/or new applications. Be a technology advocate, seeking opportunities where technology can be utilized to solve business problems. Involved in all phases of the software development lifecycle from requirements gathering, solutioning, implementation, testing, deploying, supporting. Work closely with the product and business organization to review product roadmaps, analyze requirements, provide estimates, ensure business benefit, and support the business process. Collaborate with an Agile team working closely with the product owner, QA, and peer developers. Perform unit and system testing of applications/solutions.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field plus 4 years of hands-on experience. Previous experience to include: Java based web services. Java Spring boot backend development and enterprise application design. SQL, PL/SQL and API design. JSP, Angular/React JavaScript and HTML. Mainframe (NDM,CDC and DVM) technologies with exposure to Db2. Developing microservices and RESTful APIs using Spring Boot. Developing, deploying, and optimizing Kafka-based messaging systems. PostgreSQL database design, query optimization, and performance tuning. Understanding of best practices, including source control (GIT), code reviews, unit testing, and CI/CD pipelines. Position is based in Newark, NJ but role holder is eligible to work remotely on a hybrid basis, with manager and HR approval, and must reside within commuting distance to the worksite.
