Full job description

InLoop builds warehouse robots that run fully autonomously in customer warehouses today. The fleet is growing quickly, and the demand is huge. We're hiring a senior mechatronics engineer to take our robot from working prototypes to a design we can build a hundred times. You'll work next to our head of hardware on the arms, torso, base and gripper, and own how they get built. This is a hands on role. You design a part in CAD in the morning and fit it on the robot in the afternoon. What you'll work on first

  • Arm redesign. Redesign the arm structure around the motors and gears we use today, so it's stiffer, easier to assemble and ready for volume.

  • Base. Finish our new welded steel base and make it simple to build in house and quick to install on site.

  • Gripper. Improve the gripper mechanism for the items our customers actually pack.

  • Assembly line. Build our in house assembly line with the team so one person can assemble a robot in a day: fixtures, jigs, work instructions and QC checks.

  • Electrical integration. Route cables, place connectors and design strain relief together with our electrical engineer. What we're looking for

  • 3 to 5 years designing mechanical and electromechanical systems that went into production: robot arms, mobile robots, automation equipment or automotive

  • Strong CAD and design for manufacturing: sheet metal, welded frames, machined and 3D printed parts, tolerances

  • You've taken a design from prototype to a repeatable build and written the instructions so someone else can build it

  • Hands on with machine tools, 3D printers and assembly on the bench

  • Comfortable on the electrical side: wiring, motors, sensors Nice to have

  • Actuator and gearbox design

  • FEA and stiffness analysis

  • Sourcing and supplier management in Europe or China

  • German

  • Driving license How to apply Apply here and include photos or files of something you designed and built. That tells us more than a CV.
