The transport industry is facing a transformation and Volvo Autonomous Solutions has the ambition to take aleading role in this transformation. There is an increasing need for transport andmovement of goods between logistic centers and additional transport solutions will be needed. By leading thistransformation and creating alternative transport solutions Volvo Autonomous Solutions will contribute tocreating a society we all want to live in.

The Senior Safety and Compliance Advisor will be responsible for identified Safety Department functions, thatensure company goals related to regulatory compliance and operational safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines

  • Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety

  • Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law

  • Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention

  • Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations

  • Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker’s compensation claims

  • Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures

  • Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics

  • Manage Driver's electronic record of duty status for daily compliance, generate reports weekly withnotifications issued to non-compliant drivers/contractors based on established HOS policies

  • Monitor Unassigned drive time, yard moves, critical events, coach/mentor, engage Ops when correctiveaction is needed

  • Coach/mentor Ops and Drivers regarding safety and compliance procedures and practices

  • Administer training portal, adding new users, activating/deactivating users, updating status of users, etc.

  • Monitor FMCSA portal for Driver roadside inspections, collect and process inspection reports, issuewarnings, record training, return to State of issuance within the required time limit.

  • Review and approve all Driver Criminal activity reports, as required by customer's contracts and inaccordance with Federal and State laws

  • Maintain OSHA (EHS) reporting as required by regulatory entities and company policy

  • Compile, record, secure, and maintain required data from various documents to ensure DOT compliancefor all areas, including DQ files, driver logs, vehicle operations, vehicle maintenance, etc.

Who are you?

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, logistics, or related field

  • 5-10 years experience in CMV safety and compliance environment

  • 5-10 years experience administering OSHA policies and reporting

  • Experience with processing permits and plates a plus

  • Proven knowledge of MS Office suite, TMS systems; experience with Geotab a plus

For this position, the base pay is set at $96,000.00 - $118,500.00, and where applicable, bonus eligible.  The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
