-
UL Compliance & Standards Application: Interpret and apply UL891, UL508A, UL67, NEC, and related standards, serving as a technical authority or reviewer to ensure compliance throughout the design lifecycle.
-
Busbar & Mechanical Integration: Guide mechanical designers and engineers on busbar sizing, spacing, routing, bracing, insulation, and material selection in accordance with UL requirements and applicable UL files.
-
One-Line & Power Schematic Review: Review and validate one-line diagrams and power schematics to ensure accurate representation of system intent, ratings, protective devices, and coordination.
-
Component Selection & Validation: Support and review the selection of breakers, fuses, disconnects, transformers, and related power components, verifying ratings, suitability, and UL compliance.
-
Controls Interface Collaboration: Work in close collaboration with controls and automation engineers to ensure control circuits are properly integrated into power equipment and aligned with system requirements.
-
Manufacturing Support: Provide technical support during fabrication, assembly, testing, and field feedback, resolving design questions and improving reliability and manufacturability.
-
Design Standards & Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the development and refinement of internal engineering standards, best practices, and guidelines for power distribution equipment.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience in power distribution systems required.
-
3 years of experience with power distribution equipment such as switchboards, panelboards, transformers, and protective devices. 5+ years overall electrical engineering experience preferred.
-
Working knowledge of UL891, UL508A, UL67, and NEC requirements.
-
Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams and power schematics.
-
Familiarity with control circuits and component selection in UL-listed assemblies.
Why Moonshot?
