Location: Inpatient Facility - Medical - Saranac Lake, NY

Position: Full-time Associate Director Inpatient Medical Services (RN)

Shift/Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

Pay Range: $77,931.00/year to $95,465.48/year

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Full Time/40+ hours per week. (Hours and schedules may vary depending on company need and workload. Employees will be given as much advance notice as possible when such changes occur.)

Position Summary: Under the direction of the Inpatient Services Director, the Associate Director of Inpatient Medical Services is responsible for medical services to residents and supervising all medical staff.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • NYS Registered Nurse

  • Knowledge of modern principles and practices of alcohol and chemical dependency programs, knowledge of current NYS DOH nursing and medical operations regulations and medical supervisory experience.

Essential Duties:

  • Supervising daily operations of nursing services.

  • Supervises all medical staff.

  • Ensuring nursing coverage for all shifts.

  • Maintains effective and efficient working relationships with Medial Director, physicians and Inpatient Services Director.

  • Maintains effective and efficient working relationships with clinical staff.

  • Conducts phone screening approvals for prospective residents.

  • Conducts and interprets comprehensive nursing assessments.

  • Ensures medical documentation is completed by staff and physicians.

  • Review and investigates all incident reports received from medical staff.

  • Contributes to Aftercare Plan Development based on medical needs.

  • Coordinates medical and clinical interventions for resident in support of tobacco cessation and MAT services.

  • Ensures the provision of education, risk education, counseling and referral services to all residents regarding HIV and AIDS, tuberculosis, hepatitis, sexually transmitted diseases, and other communicable diseases.

  • Provide education of residents and staff as it pertains to medical services.

  • Adhere to Pharmacy Services Policy in its entirety, inclusive of controlled substances policy, procedures and protocol.

  • Actively participated in meetings, committees, and quality assurance activities.

  • Works in concert with the Medical Director, Inpatient Services Director, physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners.

  • Facilitates renewal of all licensure and certifications for medical operations.

  • Process all invoices related to medical expenses, prescriptions, labs, supplies.

  • Responsible for oversight of annual competencies and onboarding new staff

  • Ensuring Narcotic waste/destruction with BNE is done correctly.

  • Implement and monitor quality management to ensure compliance with CLIA and to meet all standards of accreditation.

  • Ensure Narcan training is provided to all residents.

  • Manage and operate in concert with the Medical Director the Hepatitis C treatment.

  • Approve all medication changes in the EMAR.

  • Responsible for additional duties as maybe assigned by the Inpatient Services Director.
