Summary:
Responsible for the administrative/management function of the laboratory operations at South Buffalo Mercy, Mercy Ambulatory Care Center and St. Joseph Campus. Acts as a liaison between the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Nursing and Medical staff. Responsibilities include the oversight of the instrumentation, software upgrades and hardware maintenance, as well as coordination of the section supervisors and Senior Technologists. Assist System Lab Director with investigation of new platforms and the development of new test procedures and/or modifications. Assists in the consolidation and standardization of laboratory testing. Acting as the Quality Systems Manager for a specific site or area of responsibility, performs and documents QA activities as defined by Laboratory Administrative and Medical Leadership. Acting as a Laboratory liaison for educational community outreach and recruitment. Recruit for, update and monitor the Clinical Laboratory Advancement Program (CLAP).

EDUCATION

B.S. or B.A. degree in Medical Technology or related discipline required

NYS Licensure required

MT (ASCP) registered/eligible or equivalent
EXPERIENCE
- Six (6) years of clinical laboratory work experience required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

Demonstrated management skills working in an integrated system
