Full job description

Are you passionate about making an impact on the education sector? Interested in working with companies, non-profits, institutions, investors, and foundations across the PreK-12, postsecondary, and professional learning markets?

At Tyton Partners, we are striving to enable education systems to evolve for everyone, everywhere. We do this in our consulting practice by advising organizational leaders and their teams on their best path to meet learners' needs, foster equitable communities, and build a self-sustaining enterprise.

In our work, we pair a rigorous market orientation with clients' specific mission and goals to derive impactful and actionable solutions that can be implemented.

What You Will Do

Associates in Tyton Partners' strategy consulting practice serve as core members of project teams, helping clients address their most pressing growth challenges. As an Associate, you will contribute to all key phases of a consulting engagement, from brainstorming and hypothesis development to research, analysis, strategy development, and the delivery of recommendations to clients.

Working as part of a typical 3–4 person project team, you will take ownership of specific research and analytical workstreams, collaborate closely with colleagues, and help develop market-based insights and actionable strategic recommendations.

Beyond client engagements, Associates contribute to firm development through recruiting, operational initiatives, knowledge sharing, and participation in industry events. You will also be paired with a mentor who will provide guidance and support your ongoing professional development.

This position is ideal for someone looking to continue building a career in consulting, deepen their knowledge of the education sector, and contribute to a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment.

An Associate's primary responsibilities include:

  • Identifying relevant data sources and conducting primary and secondary research.

  • Taking ownership of defined project workstreams and developing expertise in key questions that inform client strategy.

  • Developing hypotheses and conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses to test them, including market and competitive landscaping, market sizing, financial analysis, and large-scale survey design and analysis.

  • Synthesizing research and analytical findings into clear, compelling PowerPoint presentations and research briefs.

  • Presenting findings, insights, and recommendations in both informal and formal settings.

  • Contributing to firm development by leveraging internal and external networks, building knowledge of education sector trends, and developing and sharing best practices.

Location: The position can be based in our Boston, MA office or remotely from anywhere in the United States.

What We Hope You Will Bring

We are looking for individuals whose approach to work aligns with Tyton Partners' values:

  • Learning Constantly: Demonstrating humility, curiosity, and openness to diverse perspectives.

  • Spirit of Generosity: Seeing the best in others, engaging honestly and authentically, and contributing to a collaborative team environment.

  • Inspired by Impact: Bringing a genuine interest in the education sector and a commitment to improving learner outcomes.

In addition, you will bring:

  • At least 2 years of consulting experience at a top firm.

  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into meaningful insights.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • A proactive, ownership-oriented mindset, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive team environment.

  • Adaptability and comfort working in an entrepreneurial, fast-changing environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

What We Offer

  • Be paired with a mentor who provides ongoing support, feedback, and guidance on your professional development and career progression

  • Learn alongside project leaders and team members through regular coaching, feedback, and training opportunities
