We develop, source, and deliver OTC medicines and supplements for some of the largest retailers, distributors, and marketplaces in U.S. healthcare, alongside our own marketplace brands, working with a manufacturing network centered in India. We’re a fast-growing, profitably-minded company run by a small team that automates aggressively.

About the Team The Finance team at Cabinet Health ensures smooth financial operations while maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. In collaboration with other members of the business, the Finance team is able to produce accurate and detailed records and metrics that inform key business decisions and project future performance. The Controller will be coming on board to scale Cabinet Health’s accounting processes as the business continues to grow in size and complexity.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the accounting function end-to-end and be the company’s authority on matters related to accurate financial statements and reporting requirements
  • Manage the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and Treasury functions
  • Manage chargeback resolution across our online marketplace and big-box retailer accounts. Build the tracking, recover what’s recoverable, document what isn’t.
  • Maintain inventory accounting, COGS, and landed cost across our SKU portfolio.
  • Run the month-end and year-end close procedures, building or improving processes in revenue recognition, contra-revenue recording, inventory accounting, necessary accruals and capital events.
  • Handle administration to ensure accurate and compliant records for the capitalization table and run process for preparing securities-related filings and 409A valuation process
  • Ensure all required state and federal tax filings are up to date and filed on a timely basis
  • Implement strengthened internal controls and spend policies
  • Partner closely with teammates to improve and document processes and workflows that support the highest quality data, transparency, repeatability and reporting
  • Plan the transition and team evolution required to transition from managing an outsourced bookkeeper to bringing the accounting function in-house
  • Make recommendations for supporting software and process management

What We’re Looking For

  • 7+ Years of relevant accounting experience, including 2+ years as the most senior accounting employee at a company or business division
  • Experience as an operator in-house as well as an accounting firm
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
  • Deep technical accounting and GAAP principle expertise
  • Proven ability to own the fully accounting cycle as well as apply judgment and the most relevant principles to situations with ambiguity

Nice to Have

  • CPA license, but will consider candidates with extensive experience
  • Experience as a company’s first formal accounting hire
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry, manufacturing, adjacent industries, or alternative highly-regulated industries
  • Familiarity with modern consumer sales channels, including major online marketplaces, big-box retail, and other B2B accounts
  • Sales tax experience across multiple states
  • Inventory accounting experience with fragmented supply chain including contract manufacturers and 3PLs
