Job Summary:
The Nursing Practice Excellence Magnet Program Coordinator provides operational, programmatic, and educational support for the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program across Upstate University Health System. Reporting to the Magnet Program Manager, this position supports the planning, coordination, and evaluation of initiatives that advance professional nursing practice and continuous Magnet readiness. Working collaboratively with nursing leadership, shared governance councils, interprofessional teams, and frontline staff, the Coordinator supports the collection, validation, analysis, and management of nursing quality, patient experience, and other Magnet-required documentation. This position plays a key role in fostering a culture of nursing excellence by supporting evidence-based practice, performance improvement, and compliance with ANCC Magnet standards to achieve and sustain Magnet designation.
Minimum Qualifications:
NYS-licensed RN (or eligible), Bachelor's degree in nursing with 2 years of progressive nursing experience in an acute care setting. Experience in quality improvement, professional practice, education, and progressive nursing leadership. Excellent written/oral communication, organizational, analytical, and computer skills required. Experience with Microsoft Office required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in nursing or healthcare field preferred. Experience with ANCC Magnet Program preferred. Certification in Nursing Professional Development, Leadership, or another specialty certification highly preferred, and experience with data management, report writing, presentation development, and project coordination is highly preferred.
Work Days:
Monday-Friday, Days with occasional off shifts and weekends based on operational needs
