Job Description

Position Overview

Support classroom teachers and students in a structured special education environment serving students with a wide range of developmental, intellectual, physical, behavioral, and complex medical needs. Provide instructional, behavioral, and personal care support to multiple students in individual, small-group, and classroom settings while promoting academic, social, and functional growth. Responsibilities may include assisting students with mobility, daily living activities, personal hygiene, and other individualized needs while maintaining a safe, supportive, and respectful learning environment.

Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age or older.
High school diploma or GED required.
Prior experience working with children required.
Must successfully complete an NJDOE Criminal History Background Check.
Experience working with students with disabilities or special needs preferred.
College coursework or substitute teacher certification is a plus, but not required.
Must demonstrate patience, compassion, professionalism, and the ability to support students with diverse learning and personal care needs.
