Position Summary
Assist with the management and implementation of facility Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs to minimize environmental impacts, reduce workplace risk, and promote a safe and incident-free work environment.
Responsibilities

Assist in implementing and maintaining company EHS programs, policies, procedures, and site-specific SOPs.

Assist in developing EHS training programs and materials, coordinate training activities, and track completion and competency.

Review current EHS training and programs and recommend revisions, improvements, and updates.

Support implementation of EHS initiatives, including training systems, metrics, corrective action tracking, Management of Change (MOC), and continuous improvement activities.

Maintain and distribute routine reports tracking EHS metrics, corrective actions, training, incidents, inspections, and initiatives versus goal.

Collaborate with departmental leadership and employees to implement and reinforce EHS policies and procedures.

Coordinate required EHS inspections and audits, conduct assigned assessments, verify completion, and follow up on corrective actions.

Maintain regular presence throughout production and support areas to identify hazards, observe work practices, and support proactive risk reduction.

Coordinate regularly scheduled Safety Committee meetings and other employee safety engagement activities.

Stop operations or activities presenting an imminent or significant risk to employees, the environment, property, or regulatory compliance.

Support investigation of injuries, illnesses, near misses, environmental events, and other incidents, including documentation, root cause identification, and corrective action follow-up.

Identify opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, environmental impacts, and other EHS risks.

Support facility environmental compliance activities, including applicable waste, wastewater, chemical, spill prevention, sustainability, and environmental recordkeeping requirements.

Maintain EHS records, files, reports, and documentation in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.

Support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety laws, regulations, codes, and requirements.

Assist EHS leadership with regulatory inspections, insurance reviews, customer audits, and other external assessments.

Serve as an EHS resource to departmental leadership and employees while reinforcing departmental responsibility for safe and compliant operations.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Excellent coordination, teamwork, written, and verbal communication skills.

Ability to conduct training in classroom and industrial environments.

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to independently prioritize and follow through on responsibilities.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Working knowledge of OSHA requirements and general EHS principles.

Environmental compliance knowledge or experience preferred.
-
One or more years of safety, environmental, or food manufacturing experience preferred.

Advanced training, certification, or education in safety, environmental health, or a related field preferred.

Ability to travel throughout the site and between company locations as required.

English/Spanish bilingual preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Work is performed in both office and manufacturing environments, with regular presence required throughout production and support areas. The employee must be able to travel throughout the facility as necessary to conduct inspections, audits, investigations, training, and other EHS activities and use required personal protective equipment.
