Full job description

Job Details: Enterprise Analytics & Business Intelligence at Tyson Foods is a discipline closely linked to marketing and consumer-driven business decisions, grounded in deeply understanding business drivers, competitive intelligence, foresight, innovation sizing, category and business forecasting, investment ROIs, and pricing dynamics. As Senior Manager, Innovation Analytics, you will lead the analytics agenda across the full innovation lifecycle, serving as the strategic bridge between data and decision-making. This role owns four interconnected pillars of the Innovation Analytics structure — Strategy, Forecasting, Story Telling, and In-Market Tracking — transforming complex internal and syndicated data into compelling narratives and forward-looking forecasts that enable successful product launches at Tyson Foods. You will synthesize multiple data sources (e.g., Nielsen, Circana/IRI, Luminate, 84.51°, Mintel, Datassential, and others) to analyze and interpret the business, reporting into the Director of Innovation Analytics. This individual will maintain a critical consulting and advisory role with senior management across the organization, driving best practices in analytics while building capabilities and influence major product decisions. A proven record of leadership, strategic thinking, and persuasive communication is essential.

Responsibilities Innovation Strategy & Communication Funnel

  • Shape the enterprise innovation strategy by informing how much innovation is needed per year, total platforms needed, total line extensions vs. core, distribution expectations, SKU rationalization, and new categories and adjacencies.

  • Drive alignment between Innovation and Business Units based on Category Development needs, providing objective review of possibilities to drive strategic initiatives.

  • Be a leader in driving business decisions based on market data, establishing key drivers and providing actionable “call to action” recommendations for growth.

  • Drive a culture of foresight to anticipate future business momentum, both short and long term; be predictive in how business and market share will be impacted in the future.

Forecasting & Resource Development

  • Coordinate with the Innovation team on Size of Prize for initial project proposals, ensuring rigorous, objective sizing of new opportunities.

  • Develop deep, data-driven customer-level forecasts through internally developed tools, including volumetric, market share, distribution, and velocity forecasting for innovation estimates.

  • Ensure Business Unit and Sales alignment on short-term and long-range projections for innovation projects.

Story Telling & Innovation Enablement

  • Build best-in-class sales stories: gather insights from stakeholders and syndicated data sources, identify story gaps, and facilitate key contributors to close needed data points.

  • Synthesize data into best-in-class communication — insight-driven sales tools, sell-in decks, and marketing narratives — that informs and empowers sales team members and supports innovation commercialization.

  • Frame data to highlight opportunity, risk, and recommended action with clarity and confidence, maintaining a strong narrative flow from insight to action.

  • Develop future outlooks, supporting brand strategy development that leads to cohesive stories.

In-Market Tracking & Performance

  • Monitor and track key KPIs versus expected forecast and goals across the innovation portfolio.

  • Provide clear communication to Business Units and Sales on drivers of success or gaps in performance.

  • Deep dive issues and provide detailed, actionable recommendations to resolve performance gaps.

  • Establish KPIs and new capabilities as best practice for measuring the impact of new product development, distribution, velocities, and other activations for innovation products.

  • Lead analytics throughout the complete product lifecycle, including brand strategy, communication strategy, innovation, product and packaging, in-market execution, and assessment.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Innovation Marketing, Brand, Sales, Consumer Insights, Category, and Business Unit stakeholders to ensure cohesive storytelling and shared understanding of innovation strategies.

  • Lead alignment meetings to streamline communication around key metrics and performance drivers related to new product launches.

  • Be a leader in solving complex business challenges through cross-functional collaboration to address key business questions.

  • Drive best practices in analytics across the organization, building capabilities, developing talent, and building advocacy for analytics.

  • Represent Tyson's Business Intelligence team in professional organizations and meetings.

Qualifications Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Intelligence, Category Management, Analytics, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.

Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in marketing analytics, consumer research, category management, or insights within CPG or retail, preferably with both agency- and manufacturer-side exposure; client-side CPG experience preferred, supplier-side research experience a plus.

  • Demonstrated experience leading analytics for innovation, including opportunity sizing, forecasting, and in-market performance assessment.

  • Strong knowledge of business practices, marketing principles, and the retail environment, including consumer-based market structures and need-state landscapes.

Technical Skills

  • Expertise in syndicated data platforms (e.g., Nielsen, Circana/IRI, 84.51°, Scintilla, Mintel), including deep knowledge of POS and panel household data.

  • Volumetric forecasting, market share forecasting, and revenue contribution models; distribution estimates and velocity forecasts for innovation.

  • Causal and due-to analysis of in-market drivers; pricing architectures, elasticities, price gaps, and optimal price curves.

  • Proficiency with data visualization software and AI (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel, PowerPoint, Claude).

Leadership & Soft Skills

  • Exceptional storytelling and communication skills, with a strong design eye for presentations.

  • Proven ability to influence across functions and levels — senior leadership included — using data-driven insights.

  • Ability to balance detail orientation with big-picture thinking in a fast-paced environment.

  • Open-minded, flexible, autonomous, and capable of leading cross-functional discussions; equally comfortable contributing and influencing in group or individual settings.

  • Demonstrated ability to build advocacy for analytics across an organization and develop talent and capabilities.
