DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position provides direct nursing care, supports medical evaluations, and helps maintain safe and consistent treatment services within the facility. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will perform the following duties: 1. Care Support: Administer medications, treatments, screenings, and restorative techniques as directed 2. Patient Monitoring: Observe physical and emotional behaviors and report identified needs 3. Emergency Response: Provide first aid, CPR, or AED care during urgent medical situations 4. Daily Assistance: Support ambulatory and non ambulatory inmates with hygiene and activities of daily living 5. Record Keeping: Document health information, prepare reports, and maintain controlled substance records 6. Supply Maintenance: Sterilize instruments and maintain stock of supplies and equipment Interested in learning more? The Department of Corrections is staffed by three (3) work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. 3. 1st shift: 6:00 am to 2:30 pm 4. 2nd shift: 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm 5. 3rd shift: 10:00 pm to 6:30 am 6. Work hours TO BE DETERMINED. 7. Alternative work schedules may be available, depending on operational needs. 8. This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55. 9. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Necessary Special Requirements: 1. This position requires active authorization to practice as a Licensed Practice Nurse in Pennsylvania. 2. All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing. Other Requirements: 1. PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. 2.
