Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer - Playwright & Selenium to join our Quality Engineering team supporting critical financial applications. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in test automation, API testing, functional validation, and data verification, with a passion for delivering high-quality software in Agile environments. This role will be responsible for designing, executing, and maintaining automated and manual test solutions while collaborating closely with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to ensure application quality, reliability, and performance throughout the software development lifecycle.

Please note, this role is not able to offer visa transfer or sponsorship now or in the future

About the Role

As a Senior QA Automation Engineer - Playwright & Selenium , you will play a key role in validating enterprise applications by developing and executing comprehensive test strategies across functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing efforts. You will leverage modern automation frameworks, perform API and database validation, support continuous testing initiatives, and contribute to improving quality engineering practices across projects.

Working within an Agile team, you will partner with cross-functional stakeholders to identify defects, validate system integrations, support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and ensure applications meet business and quality requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for a quality-focused engineer who enjoys combining automation expertise with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to deliver reliable solutions for business-critical systems.

In This Role, You Will

  • Design, execute, and maintain functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end test cases for web-based and business-critical applications.

  • Develop and maintain UI automation test scripts using Playwright with TypeScript/JavaScript and Selenium WebDriver with Java.

  • Build reusable automation components using appropriate framework patterns such as Page Object Model (POM), fixtures, reusable utilities, and data-driven testing.

  • Automate critical business workflows and regression scenarios to improve test coverage, repeatability, and execution efficiency.

  • Perform cross-browser UI validation and troubleshoot automation failures, locator issues, synchronization/wait conditions, and application changes.

  • Perform API functional and integration testing using tools/frameworks such as Postman, REST Assured, Playwright API testing, or similar technologies.

  • Develop automated API tests to validate request/response payloads, HTTP status codes, headers, authentication, error handling, and backend integration flows.

  • Execute data validation using SQL queries to verify data accuracy, integrity, transformation, and consistency between UI, APIs, and backend databases.

  • Integrate automated UI and API tests with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar tools to support continuous testing.

  • Analyze automated test execution results, identify failures, troubleshoot issues, and publish clear test execution and automation reports.

  • Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and release validation activities.

  • Identify, document, track, retest, and verify defects through resolution using Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar defect-management tools.

  • Validate system integrations and ensure application stability across multiple environments.

  • Develop and maintain test plans, test scenarios, test cases, automation suites, test data, traceability, and test execution reports.

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

  • Work closely with development teams to identify appropriate candidates for automation and support shift-left testing and continuous quality engineering practices.

  • Ensure compliance with established QA standards, automation best practices, and software development lifecycle processes.

  • Support functional and automated testing activities for financial and business-critical applications, with a strong focus on quality, reliability, and production readiness.
