Associate Accountant, Accounts Receivable (Temp to Perm)

Position Summary

The Associate Accountant – Accounts Receivable supports core AR recordkeeping, including transaction posting, customer and job account maintenance, reconciliation, and compliance with applicable regulations and GAAP.

Position Details

• Ensure accurate and timely processing of assigned accounts receivable transactions, with primary responsibility for cash receipts application and customer account

• Assist with processing and applying  customer payments, ensuring proper posting and reconciliation.

• Research and resolve straightforward accounts receivable discrepancies , unapplied cash, and customer account irregularities a timely manner. Elevate more complex issues for resolution.

• Assist with new customer setup, including creation and maintenance of customer records, account research & documentation, coordinating portal account setup, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.

• Establish and maintain accurate and complete accounting records to ensure data integrity, auditability, and current information.

• Follow appropriate policies and procedures to assure that Southland maintains compliance with all state and federal laws as well as Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

• Respond to internal and external customer inquiries in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• 1-3 Years Accounts receivable experience preferred

• Experience working within customer invoicing or payment portals  preferred.

• Basic accounting knowledge

• Strong organization skills with high level of attention to detail

• Effective written and verbal communication skills

• Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure

• Able to analyze and resolve basic issues

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion

• Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with intermediate level ability to utilize MS Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.

• Able to remain flexible in a rapidly changing environment

• Works under direct supervision

• Makes decisions within defined guidelines

Pay: Final pay is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. For California this ranges from $27.00 - $30.00/hour plus annual incentive, benefits, and retirement program as outlined above.
