Job Duties

Job Summary:

The Expansion Capital Sr. Associate supports Midco's growth initiatives by executing expansion opportunities. This role transforms strategic concepts into actionable projects, ensuring alignment across teams and delivering measurable results. They help Midco win in the marketplace by executing projects, analyzing performance and overseeing financials.

This is a hybrid position working a minimum of 3 days per week from our Edina office with the option to work-from-home the remaining days.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Midco's Government Funded Program participation, execution, and compliance including working cross functionally to construct projects and collect reimbursement.

  • Evaluate new programs and recommend Midco's participation level as programs arise.

  • Prepare, submit, and track all government funded program reimbursements.

  • Demonstrate leadership and project management skills by leading a cross functional group meeting and communicating clear expectations for those team members involved in the broadband grant execution process.

  • Work closely with internal teams and external government entities to represent Midco professionally, accurately and with strong collaboration and communication.

  • Lead the execution of other Capital Expansion projects including Fiber Expansion by acting as program manager and actively tracking the Capital Expense budget and updating the forecast.

  • Organize and lead a cross functional team to execute each project and work stream.

  • Develop options for solving problems and gain alignment across multiple groups to implement change.

  • Refine insights, identify new opportunities and question Midco norms through external and internet research.

  • Surface risks early and demonstrate a solution-oriented mindset.

  • Model Midco's mission, vision, values, ethos, and Leadership Success Drivers, and inspire others to do the same.

  • Ensure customer privacy by adhering to Midco's privacy guidelines while actively following Midco policies and procedures.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Telecommunications, Project Management, Operations Management, Construction Management, or a related field; or equivalent experience.

  • 3 years of experience leading or coordinating complex projects, programs, or business initiatives.

  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple priorities, timelines, and deliverables in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong project execution skills with the ability to organize workstreams, track progress, and drive results through completion.

  • Experience collaborating and influencing cross-functional teams to achieve shared objectives.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage financial, operational, and compliance-related information accurately.

  • Experience creating, monitoring, and reporting on budgets, forecasts, or financial performance metrics.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or other post-secondary degree.

  • Experience managing government-funded programs, grants, reimbursement processes, or regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Knowledge of broadband infrastructure, network expansion, telecommunications operations, or capital investment planning.

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams without direct authority.

  • Experience in strategic consulting, business operations, product management, corporate development, or expansion planning

The hiring range for this position is $75,000-$90,000. The actual base salary offered will be determined based on multiple factors including internal equity, location, and the individual's job-related knowledge, skills and experience. In addition to the base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus based on company and/or individual performance.

Work Environment:

  • May need to sit or remain stationary extended periods of time.

  • Extremely time sensitive deadlines to meet customer demand.

  • Employees may be required to work more than 40 hours per week.

Physical Demands:

  • May occasionally be required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch.

  • Heavy keyboard/mouse usage required with repetitive movements.

  • Must remain at your desk or workstation for long periods of time.

Mental Demands:

  • Ability to evaluate market trends and articulate actional insights to drive expansion.

  • Break down complex challenges and develop multiple solutions.

  • Ideate growth opportunities into clear and feasible projects.
