Full job description
Description We are looking for an experienced Compensation Consultant to support enterprise-wide compensation initiatives for a Long-term Contract position based in New Brighton, Minnesota. This role will focus on helping operating companies strengthen compensation foundations, create consistent job frameworks, and improve alignment across diverse business units. The consultant will work closely with internal compensation leaders to deliver project-based expertise in organizations that may have limited HR infrastructure.
Responsibilities:

Design and formalize compensation structures for operating companies that need end-to-end support in building foundational pay programs.

Partner with internal compensation leadership after initial stakeholder discussions to carry out compensation projects across multiple business units.

Conduct job leveling assessments to establish clearer role alignment, career frameworks, and pay consistency throughout the organization.

Analyze market compensation data and survey information to support benchmarking and pay program recommendations.

Use tools such as Oracle, Payfactors, Excel, and Microsoft Office to organize data, evaluate roles, and document compensation outcomes.

Develop practical compensation recommendations for organizations with limited existing HR or compensation processes.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve consistency in job architecture and compensation practices across acquired companies.

Prepare compensation analyses, reporting, and supporting materials for project stakeholders and leadership review. Requirements • 7+ years of experience in compensation, including program design, analysis, and benchmarking.

Demonstrated expertise in compensation analysis, compensation planning, and market pricing methodologies.

Experience building or enhancing compensation frameworks in environments with limited formal HR infrastructure.

Strong background in job leveling, job architecture, and career framework development.

Proficiency with Oracle, Payfactors, Microsoft Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to interpret compensation survey data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.

Strong consulting, communication, and stakeholder partnership skills across varied business groups.
