Fab Michinist/Metal Forming Specialist

A FAB Machinist / Metal Forming Specialist is a skilled technician who operates FAB machinery such as bending, rolling, cutting, etc.to bend sheet metal to the desired shape and angle. Operators are responsible for setting up the machine, selecting the appropriate tools and feeding the metal into the machine to create the desired shape. Precision and accuracy are vital in this role. Analyzing blueprints from designers and engineers • Load and unload materials • Setup and adjust machine settings to specific requirements. • Calibrate the equipment to achieve the desired bending specifications. • Programing your machine to fit the design. • Measuring the final product to ensure uniformity. • Inspecting materials to verify specifications and quality standards. • Restocking materials • Performing routine maintenance on machines • All other duties as assigned. High School Diploma or GED. • Degree or certificate from a vocational school (preferred) • Strong analytical skills • Attention to detail is paramount. • Positive, Professional attitude with a strong work ethic and ability to self-motivate. • Preventative maintenance mindset. WORKING CONDITIONS Typically working in a manufacturing environment. Will at times be exposed to heat, cold, inclement weather, noise, vibration, welding sparks, grease, oil, and diesel fuel. Will often be required to stand for extended periods of time while working in a fast-paced environment, especially when working with tight deadlines.
