Full job description

Location: Bay Area hybrid or remote Employment: Full-time Compensation: $81,000–$190,000 per year + equity + bonuses We're Wingman Law, an AI-native personal injury law firm representing injured people across California. We want our clients to feel like they have someone in their corner who knows their case and cares what happens to them. Nobody should feel like another case number. We build our entire tech stack in-house to help our team deliver that kind of service. If something makes it harder to take care of a client or adds hours of unnecessary work to your day, we want to fix it. We're hiring a Legal Operations Engineer to work with our attorneys and help improve how we run the firm. You'll be doing the work yourself, so your experience and ideas will help us decide what to build and what needs to change. Who should apply We're interested in people from a few different backgrounds:

  • Legal assistants: You keep track of the details everyone else relies on. We want that knowledge involved in deciding how the work gets done.
  • Case managers: You know what holds up a case and what clients need. Help us build around that experience.
  • Paralegals: You know what good legal work requires. We need your judgment when we're building and testing tools to support it.
  • Law clerks: You're learning the practice and probably questioning some of its habits. We're open to hearing what you'd change.
  • Legal operations professionals: Bring the process improvements you've wanted to make. You'll work directly with the team building our technology.
  • Marketing professionals: Help us understand how people find us, why they reach out, and how we can improve their experience with the firm.
  • Software engineers: If you're interested in the services side of technology, your users will be working alongside you. You'll get to see how your work affects their day and the clients we serve.

What you'll do

  • Handle case and operational work, including follow-ups, coordination, and communication.
  • Use AI tools and agents, check their work, and bring legal questions to our attorneys.
  • Point out recurring problems and help design or build ways to solve them.
  • Try new tools in your daily work and tell us what needs fixing.
  • Work with our attorneys and engineers to improve the processes you use.

Technical experience We're open to any level. If you're new to AI and automation, we'll teach you. If you're already writing code or building tools, we want to learn from you. You should be willing to learn, careful with your work, and comfortable speaking up when something could be better. We'll take your ideas seriously and expect you to help follow through on them. Apply and tell us one thing your next employer could do to make your workday better. If you're tired of doing the work without having a say in how the firm runs, we should talk.
