Full Charge Bookkeeper

Description We are looking for an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to support day-to-day financial operations for a Contract position based in Clawson, Michigan. This role is ideal for someone who can manage core accounting activities independently, maintain accurate records, and help keep reporting cycles on track. The successful candidate will bring a strong command of bookkeeping processes, a detail-focused approach, and the ability to work confidently with financial systems and spreadsheets.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee complete bookkeeping activities, ensuring financial transactions are recorded accurately and maintained in an organized manner.

• Manage outgoing payments by reviewing invoices, preparing disbursements, and keeping vendor accounts current.

• Handle incoming receivables, apply payments properly, and follow up on outstanding balances as needed.

• Reconcile bank and related financial accounts on a regular basis to identify discrepancies and maintain clean records.

• Perform month-end closing tasks, including reviewing account activity and preparing supporting documentation for reporting.

• Use Sage software to process accounting entries, maintain financial data, and support routine bookkeeping functions.

• Prepare and update Excel-based financial schedules, reports, and reconciliations to assist with tracking and analysis. Requirements • Proven experience in full charge bookkeeping with the ability to manage accounting processes independently.

• Hands-on background in accounts payable and accounts receivable administration.

• Demonstrated ability to complete accurate bank reconciliations and maintain balanced financial records.

• Practical experience using Sage or Sage-based accounting software in a bookkeeping environment.

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills for reporting, data review, and account analysis.

• Experience supporting month-end close activities and preparing related financial information.

• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a dependable approach to meeting deadlines.
