Full Time Experienced Prototype Mechanics

Performance Driven Workforce (PDW) is looking for hands-on, automotive professionals who thrive in a fast-paced, high-tech environment! PDW is now hiring Experienced Automotive Mechanics to work with a leading Tier 1 automotive supplier, building experimental prototypes and performing cutting-edge retrofits. This Full-time Experienced Automotive Mechanics position is based in Allen Park, MI and Dearborn, MI. Why This Role Stands Out: - Gain exposure to advanced automotive technology - Advance your mechanic career with mentorship and development toward senior-level role Shift: - AM day shift: 6:45 AM - 3:30 PM (Monday -- Friday, plus overtime as needed) - PM night shift: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM (Monday -- Friday, plus overtime as needed) Responsibilities: - Diagnose, repair, and maintain prototype vehicles - Perform a variety of mechanical, electrical and diagnostic tasks - Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance and calling for repairs - Work closely with engineers and test teams to troubleshoot issues - Maintain accurate repair and service documentation - Ensure a safe and organized work environment Requirements: - Minimum 4 years of hands-on automotive mechanic experience working in a shop environment - Must be 18 years of age or older - High school diploma or equivalent required - Familiarity with basic automotive systems (removing the dashboard and replacing airbags, engine, drivetrain, suspension, brakes, etc.) - Mechanical ability to operate shop equipment - Must own your own tools with a rolling lockable toolbox (PDW offers a toolbox program if needed!) - Ability to read and follow technical instructions, schematics and written procedures - Strong work ethic and attention to detail - Must have reliable attendance and the willingness to work overtime/weekends ** ** Preferred Qualifications: - Valid driver's license and good driving record - ASE certifications - Ford experience - Prototype/Retro-fit experience - Knowledge of vehicle alignments, air conditioning (A/C) systems repairs, tire machines and balancers - Technical experience in automotive, diesel, electronics or similar fields strongly preferred Retirees and veterans are welcome.
