Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a Staff Accountant to support a collaborative office in Ohio. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for an accounting specialist who is confident in financial statement preparation, month-end activities, and tax work for a variety of entity types. The role offers flexibility during standard business hours and requires an on-site presence in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate financial statements for clients and ensure reporting is completed in a timely manner.

• Manage month-end close processes, including account reconciliations and review of general ledger activity.

• Record and post adjusting journal entries to maintain complete and accurate financial records.

• Support tax preparation for individual and business returns, including 1040, 1120, 1120-S, and 1065 filings.

• Apply knowledge of corporate, sales, and local tax requirements to help maintain compliance across client accounts.

• Use QuickBooks Desktop to maintain accounting records and produce financial information for reporting purposes.

• Utilize Intuit ProSeries to assist with tax return preparation and related documentation.

• Analyze financial data in Excel using tools such as VLOOKUPs and PivotTables to support accounting and reporting tasks. Requirements • At least 5 years of accounting experience in a staff accountant or similar role.

• Strong background in preparing financial statements and supporting general ledger accuracy.

• Hands-on experience with month-end close and adjusting journal entries.

• Practical tax experience with corporate, partnership, and individual returns.

• Working knowledge of sales tax and other applicable local tax requirements.

• Proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop and Intuit ProSeries.

• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and PivotTables.

• Ability to work effectively in a fully on-site office setting in North Royalton, Ohio.
