Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Engineer II to support electric power distribution projects serving utility clients throughout Georgia and the Southeast. This position is ideal for engineers with 3-6 years of experience in power distribution, whether gained directly through an electric utility, engineering consulting firm, utility contractor, or infrastructure services provider.

The Engineer II will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and supporting overhead and underground distribution systems while collaborating with field personnel, project managers, and utility stakeholders. The individual will play a key role in delivering safe, reliable, and cost-effective distribution solutions that support system reliability, grid modernization initiatives, and customer-driven projects.

Skills and Requirements

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline. 3-6 years of experience supporting electric power distribution projects. Experience working for a utility, utility consulting firm, engineering services provider, contractor, or other organization supporting electric distribution infrastructure. Knowledge of overhead and underground distribution systems. Understanding of utility construction practices, equipment, and distribution design standards. Experience developing engineering work packages and construction-ready designs. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other standard business software. Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally for site visits as needed. Experience supporting utilities such as Georgia Power, EMCs, municipal utilities, or other investor-owned utilities. Familiarity with NESC requirements and utility engineering standards. Experience with utility design software such as: MicroStation AutoCAD SPIDAcalc O-Calc Pole Foreman GIS platforms CYME or similar distribution modeling tools Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or progress toward professional licensure. Experience supporting grid modernization, reliability, resiliency, or renewable interconnection projects.
