As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be part of the Production department supporting the injection molding operations team. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on, plant-floor mindset, strong structured problem-solving skills, and the drive to lead continuous improvement that measurably improves safety, quality, delivery, cost, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Miami Lakes, Florida (On-Site)

Pay Range: $95000 - $110000

What's the Job?

  • Act as the project manager for assigned manufacturing, automation, equipment, and continuous-improvement projects from concept through closeout, including scope, milestones, resources, risks, acceptance criteria, and status communication.

  • Investigate recurring and high-impact production losses directly at the equipment using data and structured root-cause methods, then drive permanent corrective actions that sustain results across shifts.

  • Lead continuous-improvement initiatives using Lean principles (e.g., Kaizen, SMED, 5S, value-stream analysis, standard work, mistake-proofing) to eliminate waste and improve flow, throughput, quality, and consistency.

  • Optimize injection molding process performance by reducing scrap, improving process stability, and tightening cycle time while protecting product quality, process capability, mold protection, equipment reliability, and safety.

  • Coordinate automation and mechanical improvements (robots, part handling, sensors/vision, automated inspection, guarding, and secondary operations) and support new equipment validation, testing, and release to production.

What's Needed?

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automation Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline.

  • Five or more years of hands-on manufacturing, process, automation, or continuous-improvement engineering experience, including direct support of injection molding or a comparable high-volume automated manufacturing operation.

  • Proven results improving OEE, scrap, cycle time, downtime, equipment reliability, labor productivity, manufacturing cost, or automation performance.

  • Working knowledge of injection molding machines, molds, thermoplastic materials, dryers, grinders, chillers/temperature controllers, conveyors, robots, and related auxiliary equipment.

  • Demonstrated project-management capability including scope definition, schedule management, cost/budget tracking, supplier coordination, risk management, implementation, validation, and project closeout.

What's in it for me?

  • Own meaningful, plant-floor engineering projects that directly improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and OEE.

  • Use structured problem-solving and Lean methods to eliminate recurring losses and build sustainable standards.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Process Technicians, Maintenance, Tooling, Quality, Safety, Materials, Scheduling, Purchasing, Finance, Controls/IT, suppliers, and automation integrators.

  • Lead technical improvements across molding processes, automation, equipment reliability, and new equipment validation through release to production.

  • Work in an environment where you’ll spend approximately 60%-75% of your time in active manufacturing areas, with occasional off-shift support as needed.
