Full job description

Love solving technical puzzles? As a Failure Analysis Technician , you'll diagnose hardware failures, uncover root causes, and work alongside engineering teams to improve the performance and reliability of advanced computing systems.

Failure Analysis Engineer

Location: Santa Clara and Fremont, CA

Pay: $38 - $50/hour (DOE)

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform root cause failure analysis on computer systems and electronic components.

  • Troubleshoot, test, and repair hardware issues at the system and component level.

  • Conduct visual inspections and diagnostic testing using industry-standard tools.

  • Analyze data and prepare technical reports with findings and recommendations.

  • Read and interpret schematics, board layouts, and technical documentation.

  • Support product quality and reliability initiatives through corrective actions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Experience in failure analysis, electronics repair, quality inspection, or hardware diagnostics.

  • Strong understanding of computer hardware, servers, and electronic components.

  • Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.

  • Ability to read schematics and technical drawings.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

  • Mandarin language skills are a plus.

Preferred Experience

  • Server or workstation repair

  • Electronics manufacturing or quality engineering

  • Root cause analysis and technical reporting

  • BIOS, firmware, driver, and operating system troubleshooting

Pay Details: $38.00 to $50.00 per hour
