Full job description

  • Prepare electronic Post Conviction Writ records to be sent to the Criminal Court of Appeals, following all rules and statutes as provided by the Criminal Laws of Texas.
  • Assist all customers via email, phone calls, or in person in a professional manner.
  • Accomplishes section objectives in accordance with standard operating procedures and policies of the District Clerk’s office.
  • Works efficiently to achieve the goals of the District Clerk’s office as outlined in the Strategic Plan and Mission Statement

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from an accredited educational institution.
  • Must possess intermediate computer skills in the following applications – Microsoft Office.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Keyboards at 35 wpm.
  • Must be able to work under strict time constraints and work overtime upon request.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to handle customers in a polite and courteous manner.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Must be able to maneuver, including lifting, climbing a ladder and moving a minimum of thirty (30) pounds.
  • Must have good time management skills.
  • Must be capable of working under stress.
  • Must be eligible for employment in the United States.
  • Testing will be required. (Grammar 80%, Typing 35 words per minute) at 80% accuracy

  • Regular Full-time | Monday – Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.

Salary:

  • $25.14 Hourly

  • Based on 26 pay periods

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to maneuver, including lifting, climbing ladders, and moving a minimum of thirty (30) lbs.

Note: Upon receiving a conditional offer of employment, all applicants are screened for the presence of illegal drugs. The Harris County District Clerk’s Office has an employment-at-will policy.
