Summary

About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency. It is located at the Kenner Army Health Clinic at Fort Lee, Virginia. The primary purpose of the Human Resources Assistant position is to provide support to the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) is improving the recruitment and retention of civilian personnel within the (MTF). This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

Duties

  • Provide administrative management of the Defense Management and Appraisal Program (DPMAP).
  • Conduct individual and group in processing for new Military Treatment Facility civilian employees.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact and representative for the Military Treatment Facility civilian awards program.
  • Advise on civilian personnel programs and policies in the areas such as position management, classification and recruitment and placement.
  • Support drug testing and task management requirements.

Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing general clerical and office automation functions, and technical support such as assisting with routine personnel actions; overseeing in/out-processing of employees; providing customer service by email or telephonically; and inputting and/or retrieving data utilizing automated systems.This is the definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone - no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
