Job Title: Electrical EngineerJob Description

This role focuses on designing and supporting electrical and control systems for a diverse range of product lines. You will create detailed electrical documentation, guide component selection, and ensure systems meet performance, reliability, and compliance requirements. You will collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and production teams to develop, improve, and support electrical products and processes in a growing, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design electrical and control systems for various product lines, including 3phase power distribution, variable frequency drives (VFDs), PLC-based controls, and sensor systems.

  • Create clear and accurate electrical schematics, panel layouts, and bills of materials (BOMs) using AutoCAD Electrical or similar CAD tools to support manufacturing and service documentation.

  • Select, develop, test, and troubleshoot electrical components and systems to ensure compatibility, performance, reliability, and overall product quality.

  • Review customer requirements and materials to translate functional needs into robust electrical designs and control strategies.

  • Develop and improve electrical products and manufacturing processes based on customer requirements, testing results, materials performance, and operator feedback.

  • Prepare and execute electrical testing methods to verify system performance and support compliance with relevant standards and codes.

  • Ensure electrical designs meet applicable electrical standards and regulations, including relevant compliance codes and industry guidelines.

  • Provide technical support and project leadership by reporting progress, answering engineering questions, and maintaining accurate technical data and documentation.

  • Collaborate closely with panel building and wiring teams to address design challenges, incorporate practical feedback, and improve manufacturability.

  • Work with assemblers and operators on the production floor to support new models, implement design changes, and optimize production processes.

  • Contribute to a collaborative, team-focused culture by sharing knowledge, participating in problem-solving activities, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelors degree in a technical field, such as electrical engineering or a related discipline.

  • Hands-on electrical design experience using any electrical CAD package, including tools such as AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical.

  • Experience designing electrical systems, including power distribution and control circuits.

  • Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs) and power distribution products.

  • Experience with component and material selection for electrical systems.

  • Ability to review and interpret customer requirements and technical materials to inform design decisions.

  • Ability to prepare and execute electrical testing methods to validate system performance and quality.

  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, including design of electrical systems, controls, and safety considerations.

  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and resolve compatibility, performance, and reliability issues.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to support technical reporting and cross-functional collaboration.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with controls and automation, including PLC programming and HMI programming.

  • Knowledge of sensor technology and sensor system design.

  • Familiarity with compliance codes and standards, including UL and NEC, and the ability to design systems in accordance with applicable codes.

  • Experience with controls programming and automation systems in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

  • Exposure to design of control panels, including layout, wiring considerations, and documentation.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and contribute to a positive, collaborative culture.

  • Interest in working in a growing organization and helping build out a core engineering team.

Work Environment

The work environment combines office-based engineering work with frequent interaction on the production floor. You will spend time in an office setting developing designs, creating schematics, and preparing documentation using CAD and other engineering tools. You will regularly visit the panel building room to collaborate with the wiring team, review panel builds, and gather feedback on design challenges and improvements. You will also work on the production floor alongside assemblers and operators, supporting new product introductions, addressing design-related issues, and refining production processes based on real-world usage. The environment is team-oriented, collaborative, and fast-growing, with a strong emphasis on open communication, problem solving, and enjoying working together while delivering high-quality products.
