THE POSITION

As a Human Services Program Specialist with the Bureau of Human Services Licensing, you will help ensure essential programs meet high standards for safety and compliance. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports the Division of Licensing Administration by reviewing licensing applications, organizing documentation, and verifying compliance with required regulations. It involves communication with applicants and program offices to ensure all materials are accurate and complete for processing. As a Human Services Program Specialist, you will perform the following duties:

  • Application Review: Evaluate licensing applications and supporting documents to confirm compliance with regulations

  • Document Verification: Check certificates, legal papers, charts, and statements for accuracy and authenticity

  • Data Analysis: Analyze information from multiple state systems to draw conclusions and recommend actions

  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate with applicants, providers, and program offices to resolve questions and gather required information

  • Record Management: Enter licensing data, update records, and organize electronic files according to policy

  • Report Preparation: Prepare reports, summaries, and materials for presentations and meetings

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment

  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.

  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of professional experience developing, implementing, or evaluating human services, social services, health care services, or health care insurance programs.
