Ceilings - Estimator / PM (Fort Meyers Branch)

Job Description

Insight Global is currently seeking an Estimator / Project Manager (ESP) to join a client in the commercial specialty construction industry in Fort Myers, Florida. This individual will be responsible for both estimating and project management functions, overseeing projects from the bidding stage through completion. Daily responsibilities include reviewing blueprints and specifications, preparing accurate takeoffs and estimates, coordinating with general contractors and clients, managing project schedules, tracking costs, and ensuring successful project execution. The ESP will support a diverse portfolio of commercial projects including schools, healthcare facilities, clubhouses, golf course developments, airports, restaurants, and tenant improvement work throughout Southwest Florida. The Fort Myers branch operates with a lean, collaborative team structure where Project Managers handle both estimating and operational responsibilities, making versatility and organization critical to success. The ideal candidate will have strong blueprint-reading skills, a solid construction background, and the ability to build relationships with contractors while helping the branch remain competitive and profitable in a challenging bidding environment.

Skills and Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints (most important requirement)
• Experience in construction estimating and/or project management
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong computer proficiency with the ability to learn estimating and project management software
• Knowledge of commercial construction processes, contracts, and project coordination
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage both estimating and project management responsibilities simultaneously
• Acoustical ceiling experience
• Ceiling, drywall, or specialty interiors construction experience
• Experience estimating commercial construction projects
• Experience managing projects from award through closeout
• Experience with schools, healthcare facilities, clubhouses, airports, restaurants, tenant improvements, or other commercial construction projects
• Experience working for competitors such as Real Ceilings or Hanlon Ceilings
• Candidates with strong construction fundamentals and blueprint-reading abilities who can be trained on the ceiling industry
