The Veterinary Practice Liaison serves as a key member of AMC's Outreach team and is responsible for strengthening relationships with referring veterinarians and veterinary hospitals throughout an assigned geographic territory. This field-based role focuses on referral growth, relationship management, service education, and enhancing the overall referral experience for AMC's referring community.

The Veterinary Practice Liaison acts as a trusted resource and ambassador for AMC by providing consistent engagement with referring practices, increasing awareness of AMC's specialty and emergency services, and identifying opportunities to strengthen partnerships that support patient care and hospital growth.

Key Responsibilities

Territory Management & Practice Outreach

  • Manage an assigned geographic territory based on designated ZIP codes.

  • Conduct a minimum of five veterinary practice visits per day through a combination of scheduled meetings and cold calls.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with veterinarians, practice managers, technicians, and hospital staff.

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for referring veterinary practices within the assigned territory.

  • Identify opportunities to strengthen referral partnerships and increase utilization of AMC services.

  • Maintain regular visibility within the referral community through consistent in-person visits and engagement.

Referral Growth & Relationship Management

  • Educate referring veterinary teams on AMC's specialty, emergency, and referral services.

  • Promote AMC programs, veterinarians, continuing education opportunities, and hospital resources.

  • Assist referring practices in navigating referral processes and accessing appropriate services.

  • Gather feedback from referring veterinarians and communicate opportunities, concerns, and trends to AMC leadership.

  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to support referral retention and practice satisfaction.

  • Build long-term relationships designed to support sustainable referral growth.

Outreach Programs & Events

  • Coordinate and participate in hospital visits, educational events, lunch-and-learn programs, and other outreach initiatives.

  • Manage a quarterly outreach budget to support referral engagement activities, including in-service lunches, appreciation gifts, and branded promotional items.

  • Represent AMC professionally at conferences, meetings, community events, and industry functions.

  • Partner with hospital leadership to identify outreach opportunities that support strategic business objectives.

Performance & Reporting

  • Track outreach activity, referral trends, and relationship-building efforts within assigned territories.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of practice visits, meetings, and follow-up actions within the CRM platform.

  • Monitor territory performance against established referral growth and revenue goals.

  • Prepare and present regular reports on outreach activities, practice engagement, and key performance indicators.

  • Meet or exceed established quarterly referral revenue benchmarks and territory performance expectations.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in veterinary medicine, veterinary business development, practice management, client relations, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 2 years sales/territory management experience.

  • Strong understanding of referral veterinary medicine and veterinary hospital operations.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationships.

  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage a territory-based schedule.

  • Proficiency with CRM platforms, Microsoft Office, and reporting tools.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel frequently throughout assigned territories.

Preferred

  • Experience in specialty, emergency, or referral veterinary medicine.

  • Previous business development, outreach, pharmaceutical, or veterinary field representative experience.

  • Experience presenting educational programs or facilitating professional meetings.

  • Knowledge of veterinary referral networks and referring veterinarian engagement strategies.

Pay Range

$100,000 — $125,000 USD
