Position Overview

As a Senior Lattice Estimator, you will lead the development of accurate and competitive estimates for lattice-boom crane, heavy lift, rigging, and transportation projects.

You will collaborate with operations, engineering, and project teams to develop execution strategies, evaluate project risks, and prepare detailed cost estimates for complex industrial, power, infrastructure, and construction projects. This role plays a key part in supporting successful project pursuits through strong technical expertise, cost analysis, and industry knowledge.

District Overview

Kiewit Power Delivery (KPD) provides direct-hire construction services for Power Delivery Services utilizing organized and open shop labor force.  Kiewit Power Delivery throughout North America currently consists of Transmission & Distribution, Wind and Solar Projects.  All of Kiewit Power is committed to Kiewit’s “Nobody Gets Hurt” and "Do it Right the First Time" philosophies.

Location

The position is based out of Houston, TX.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare complete and accurate estimates for lattice-boom crane, heavy lift, rigging, and transportation projects.

  • Review RFPs, drawings, specifications, and lift plans to define project scope.

  • Develop labor, equipment, material, subcontractor, and logistics costs.

  • Collaborate with operations teams to develop lift strategies, schedules, and execution plans.

  • Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations.

  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.

  • Prepare estimate review packages and support proposal development.

  • Travel to project sites as required.

  • Mentor and train junior estimators.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.

  • 7+ years of estimating, heavy lift, rigging, crane, or industrial construction experience.

  • Experience estimating lattice-boom crane operations and heavy transportation projects.

  • Strong understanding of construction means and methods, lift planning, and rigging practices.

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and project schedules.

  • Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Willingness to travel as needed.
