Job Description

The Network Engineer – Level 1 supports a multi-site network environment, assisting in the planning, design, implementation, and day-to-day operation of local and wide area networks. This role provides technical support to ensure high availability, performance, and security of network services, and may assist in evaluating and recommending new technologies to enhance current capabilities.

Skills and Requirements

2+ years of Network Engineering or Network Infrastructure support experience Strong understanding of TCP/IP, OSI model, IP addressing, and subnetting Working knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP) Familiarity with network security, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless technologies Experience troubleshooting network issues using tools such as packet captures, ping, traceroute, SNMP, and log analysis Understanding of authentication and access control technologies (RADIUS, TACACS+, 802.1X) Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills Ability to maintain technical documentation and follow established procedures Effective communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders Experience with Cisco routing and switching Experience with Palo Alto NGFWs Experience with Aruba ClearPass or other NAC solutions Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field Relevant certifications such as CCNA, Network+, PCNSE, or Aruba certifications (preferred, not required)
