Senior Manager, Technology Operations - Risk Policy Governance

Position Summary...

The Senior Manager, Marketplace Risk Policy Governance, leads the governance & lifecycle management of risk policies across Walmart Marketplace. This role establishes the frameworks, standards, and operating mechanisms required to ensure policies are clear, consistent, scalable, and effectively implemented across the seller journey.The Senior Manager owns the policy governance infrastructure and partners across Risk, Product, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Marketplace, and other cross-functional teams to develop and evolve policies, assess business and seller impact, drive implementation readiness, and measure policy effectiveness.This role serves as a critical connection point between risk strategy and execution, ensuring policy decisions protect customers and Walmart while enabling a trusted, sustainable Marketplace.

The Walmart Marketplace Seller Risk team is committed to protecting the platform by managing seller-related risks and preventing unauthorized access. The team monitors seller activities to maintain a secure and trustworthy marketplace. Collaborating across functions, members lead strategic initiatives that improve operational efficiency and uphold customer and brand trust. By leveraging data insights, stakeholder engagement, and process enhancements, the team supports sustainable growth and Walmart Marketplace’s reputation as a reliable e-commerce destination. This role involves driving cross-functional projects and fostering strong partnerships to achieve key business objectives effectively.

What you'll do:

• Own the Marketplace Risk Policy Library/Portal, policy inventory, taxonomy, and end-to-end policy lifecycle, ensuring clear ownership and alignment to controls, SOPs, enforcement & seller experiences.

• Establish governance standards,decision rights,approval processes,review cadences, & exception management.

• Lead policy change management, including version control, impact assessment, stakeholder communication, implementation tracking, and traceability.

• Lead policy GTM and operational readiness, ensuring SOPs,training, communications, seller experience, and supporting capabilities are ready for launch.

• Conduct policy audits to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and control weaknesses.

• Partner cross-functionally to develop scalable policies addressing emerging risks and business needs.

• Measure policy effectiveness and recommend improvements to controls and automation.

• Drive global policy consistency while addressing market-specific requirements.

What you'll bring:

• Experience developing and governing policies, risk frameworks, compliance programs, or controls in a complex business environment.

• Strong understanding of policy lifecycle management, governance, change management, and operational implementation.

• Ability to translate complex risk and business needs into clear, scalable policies and requirements.

• Strong analytical judgment with the ability to balance risk, customer and seller experience, operational impact, and business growth.

• Proven ability to influence and drive alignment across Product, Operations, Legal, Compliance, and business teams.

• Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to create structure in ambiguity and build scalable governance mechanisms.

• Experience using data and insights to measure effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.

Sunnyvale, California US-11789: The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00 - $234,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
