You will plan and coordinate assigned implementations, resolve configuration and connectivity issues, and work with customers, solution architects, and vendors to deliver approved network changes.

Under general direction, you will independently determine how to complete assigned work, using established standards and technical judgment. You will help less experienced analysts resolve problems, improve implementation documentation, and keep customers informed when technical issues or dependencies affect service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Plan assigned network implementations, identify technical dependencies, and coordinate activation sequencing with customers, vendors, and technical teams.

  • Validate service requirements and Telecommunications Service Orders (TSOs), and resolve discrepancies before scheduled changes.

  • Configure and verify network devices, review implementation details, and select troubleshooting approaches consistent with approved architecture and change procedures.

  • Resolve complex routing, switching, circuit, and configuration problems using network records, test results, and traffic behavior.

  • Coordinate Initial Test and Acceptance (IT&A), assess results, and verify that changes provide the required end to end connectivity.

  • Evaluate the impact of deployed changes and coordinate corrective actions through established change management processes.

  • Provide technical guidance to entry level and journeyman analysts, review documentation, and share troubleshooting methods and lessons learned.

  • Maintain implementation and completion records, communicate technical risks, and recommend improvements to recurring service delivery problems.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, telecommunications, or a related field with 4 years of relevant experience; master's degree with 2 years; doctorate with no prior relevant work experience required; associate's degree with 6 years; or high school diploma with 8 years. Equivalent relevant experience, training, or certifications may be considered in lieu of the degree.

  • U.S. citizenship and an active Secret security clearance.

  • Current CompTIA Security CE or an equivalent baseline certification accepted for the position.

  • Experience implementing and troubleshooting routed and switched networks, including device configuration, service testing, and circuit activation.

  • Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VRFs, WAN connectivity, and related network services.

  • Ability to interpret technical requirements, analyze test and performance data, and independently develop solutions to complex implementation problems.

  • Ability to coordinate work across customer and vendor teams, explain technical issues clearly, and provide practical guidance to other analysts.

  • Ability to work on site at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • CCNP, CCNA, or a comparable routing and switching certification.

  • Experience with DISA, Defense Information System Network operations, or defense network service implementation.

  • Experience with DISA request fulfillment, TSRs, TSOs, completion reports, and customer acceptance activities.

  • Experience resolving multi vendor connectivity issues, including IS-IS, VPNs, or voice and data services.

  • ITIL certification or experience improving change management and implementation procedures.
