Full job description

Description

Help shape the future of fulfillment alongside passionate, talented people who are obsessed with delivering for customers. As an Area Manager at our SJC8 site in Salinas, CA, you'll help launch a brand-new Amazon Robotics (AR) fulfillment center! This site will be one of the most advanced operations in our network.

At an AR site, fleets of autonomous robots work side by side with our associates, bringing products directly to them so the team can pick, pack, and ship with speed and precision. It's where cutting-edge technology meets world-class operations, and you'll be leading at the intersection of both.

As part of the launch team, you'll help to build this operation from the ground floor — cultivating teams, setting the standards, and shaping the culture that will define this site for years to come.

This is your opportunity to own the floor, develop people, and drive the results that keep our promise to customers, all while mastering the technology that's redefining what a fulfillment center can be

Key job responsibilities

Own your operation: Take full accountability for safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery across your area.

Lead and develop your team: Manage, coach, and motivate a team of hourly associates, setting clear expectations and building a culture where people do their best work.

Drive continuous improvement: Spot inefficiencies, champion process improvements, and turn performance data into decisions that move the business forward.

Deliver for customers: Ensure every order reaches the right customer, at the right time, at the right location — and raise the bar on how we get there.

Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, and Human Resources to develop and execute plans that hit business objectives.

Additional Job Elements to This Hands-On Leadership Role

*Lift and move items up to 49 pounds; frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach

*Standing and/or walking for up to 12 hours during shifts

*Ability to work in environments where the noise level varies and can be loud

*Ability to work in environments subject to variable temperatures and weather (delivery stations include outside loading areas)

*Able to access all areas of the building, including continuously climbing and descending stairs where applicable
