Full job description
Growing commercial service business seeking an Administrative & Personal Assistant to work closely with the owner and help build the administrative and operational side of the company. This is a relatively new business, approximately a year and a half into operation, and is beginning to build its team and establish more formal systems, procedures, and processes. Because of this, the position is broader than a traditional administrative assistant role and will provide an opportunity to help shape how the business operates as it grows. Responsibilities may include administrative support, invoicing and basic bookkeeping assistance, filing and record organization, answering and making phone calls, scheduling, customer and vendor communication, research, website and social media assistance, marketing and sales support, errands, shop or office support, and other general business tasks. A significant part of the position will involve working directly with the owner to research solutions, develop ideas, organize information, create procedures, improve workflows, establish administrative systems, and help turn ideas into practical processes that can be used as the company grows. This is a broad position and responsibilities will evolve over time. The ideal candidate will be comfortable wearing multiple hats, learning new things, solving problems, researching unfamiliar topics, and figuring out how to accomplish tasks without requiring step-by-step instructions for everything. The ideal candidate will be organized, dependable, professional, computer literate, comfortable communicating with customers and vendors, willing to take initiative, and able to work independently while also collaborating closely with the owner. The position will initially be part-time, with the potential to develop into a larger full-time role as the company continues to grow. Long-term opportunities may include increased responsibility in administration, operations, office management, employee coordination, and other areas of the business. Other duties and projects may be assigned as business needs arise.
