At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us challenge the status quo and transform the finance industry together. We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location(s).

  • Westlake: 3000 Schwab Way, Westlake, TX 76762

  • Orlando: 70 South Keller Road, Orlando, FL 32810

Join the Advisor Services User Experience team as a hands-on UX design leader, guiding the strategy and delivery of digital experiences used by independent Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) firms. You will lead a team of UX professionals and shape enterprise workflows across Schwab Advisor Center, helping simplify complex, data-intensive work and enabling advisors to serve their clients with confidence.

This role combines people leadership, enterprise UX strategy, interaction and workflow design, and cross-functional partnership. You will connect user needs, product priorities, technology considerations, and business outcomes to create scalable experiences across multiple product streams.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

Strategy & design leadership

  • Provide creative and strategic direction across a portfolio of products to ensure alignment with the platform vision and business goals.

  • Advocate for user needs throughout the product design cycle.

  • Co-create solutions with cross-functional teams, considering how digital, physical, and service channels work together.

  • Tackle system-level questions by considering opportunities in design, architecture, and standards.

Team leadership

  • Lead and mentor a collaborative and innovative cross-disciplinary UX team.

  • Define and manage UX roadmaps across product areas to maximize resources and outcomes.

  • Provide ongoing tactical direction focused on pragmatic, iterative improvements.

  • Manage team performance and support talent development.

Process and execution

  • Collaborate to establish and maintain a scalable design system and governance process.

  • Help define research practices to identify user wants and needs and quantify impact.

  • Leverage data and insights to design interfaces and workflows that streamline processes, increase adoption, and satisfy user and business needs.

What you have

Required qualifications

  • A track record of leading, coaching, and developing UX professionals by setting expectations, providing actionable feedback, delegating ownership, and supporting teams through change.

  • Proven success setting UX strategy and design direction across a portfolio, platform, or multiple product streams, with design decisions connected to measurable user and business outcomes.

  • Prior experience designing enterprise AI product or incorporation of emerging technology into complex digital experiences.

  • A background designing complex B2B software, transactional platforms, or other data-intensive digital products using user-centered design principles.

  • The ability to simplify complex journeys, navigation, and task flows while accounting for business rules, system constraints, and user context.

  • Applied use of qualitative research, analytics, customer feedback, and experience measures to identify needs, test assumptions, and evaluate outcomes.

  • Strong cross-functional partnership across Product, Technology, Research, Service Design, and Business teams, including navigating competing priorities, resolving trade-offs, and influencing decisions.

  • Clear communication of complex concepts, research insights, and design rationale through recommendations, presentations, workshops, or design reviews.

  • Hands-on contribution to scalable design systems and standards, along with development-ready work created in Figma and contemporary UX tools and methods.

  • A portfolio showing your design process, leadership decisions, collaboration approach, and the outcomes of your work.

Preferred qualifications

  • A background designing digital products or workflows in financial services, RIA platforms, or another highly regulated enterprise environment such as healthcare, energy, or HR technology.

We encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every preferred qualification. Your skills, perspective, and ability to create impact may be a strong match for our team.

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
