Join our colleagues in bringing our Mission to life every single day to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. We provide our global teams with the resources needed to achieve individual career goals while helping to take science a step beyond by developing solutions for some of the world’s toughest challenges, like protecting the environment, making sure our food is safe or helping find cures for cancer.

LOCATION:

This is a remote position available for hire in the USA or EMEA (internals only). No relocation assistnace provided.

DESCRIPTION:

Join our collaborative team at Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Senior Global Market Development (GMD) Manager for the Bioprocessing Filtration and Separation business. In this role, you will lead global market development strategy for key bioprocessing segments, such as biologics, plasma-derived therapies, advanced therapies, vaccines, and other emerging markets. You will develop workflow-based strategies that position our filtration and separation portfolio across critical stages of the bioprocessing workflow.

The Senior GMD Manager will translate technical data, customer needs, market trends, and competitive insights into differentiated positioning, compelling value propositions, and global go-to-market strategies that drive portfolio adoption and above-market growth.

Success is measured by the quality and impact of GTM strategy—not the volume of marketing activity. The role requires deep knowledge of assigned portfolios, applications, customers, and competitive dynamics, along with the ability to align cross-functional stakeholders and drive execution in a highly matrixed organization.

What you will do:

  • Lead the development and execution of global go-to-market strategies, including technical content creation, for assigned bioprocessing market segments, identifying opportunities to drive portfolio adoption, market penetration, and above-market growth.

  • Develop a deep understanding of customer workflows across assigned market segments, identifying unmet needs, process challenges, buying barriers, and emerging trends that create opportunities for Thermo Fisher Scientific's filtration and separation products.

  • Translate market, customer, competitive, and performance insights into prioritized customer segments, workflow opportunities, differentiated positioning, compelling value propositions, and actionable growth strategies.

  • Define the marketing approach required to achieve business objectives, including where to expand reach, progress demand, enable regional marketing and commercial conversion, and drive adoption.

  • Partner with Marketing Centers of Excellence to activate GTM strategies across content, digital, marketing automation, events, channels, and measurement.

  • Engage Regional Market Development and Commercial teams early to incorporate regional requirements, enable sellers, and ensure effective market execution and customer follow-up.

  • Apply AI and performance insights to accelerate planning, content development, optimization, and decision-making while maintaining scientific accuracy, quality standards, and appropriate human judgment.

  • Manage marketing investments within established budget, planning, and governance requirements.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Advanced Degree plus 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years of experience in marketing in life sciences, biotechnology, diagnostics or pharmaceutical industry

  • Preferred Fields of Study: Life Sciences (Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry) and/or Marketing/Business

  • Demonstrated success developing and executing multi-channel marketing campaigns and strategic initiatives

  • Experience developing effective content and messaging across digital and traditional channels

  • Strong analytical skills with ability to derive insights from market data and campaign metrics

  • Strong strategic thinking and ability to optimize campaigns based on performance data

  • Ability to build relationships and lead complex marketing projects in a matrix environment

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level presentations

  • Proficiency with marketing analytics tools and relevant software platforms

  • Expertise in budget management and measuring marketing ROI

  • Results-oriented with track record of meeting objectives

  • Experience managing relationships with agencies and external partners

  • Ability to travel 10-15%
