THE WORK

  • The Weapons Engineer is responsible for ensuring all AEGIS Weapons Control System (WCS) equipment and related interfaces are operational and available.

  • The Weapons System Engineer will also be responsible for ensuring the FCS element are operational and available, in additional to equipment suites, setup configurations, equipment interfaces and data extraction requirements for testing.

  • The Weapons Engineer reports to the AWS Engineer Lead and coordinates with the Availability Project Engineer, Test Coordinator (TC) and Test Director for WCS test related matters.

*Qualified candidate must have an active DoD Interim Secret Security Clearance to be considered. US Citizenship is required.

Basic Qualifications

  • Must be physically able to work on board a U.S. Navy ship and support short underway periods

  • Ability to travel up to 50 percent of the time CONUS and OCONUS

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related engineering field or applicable experience

  • Demonstrated experience with Phased Array Radar hardware/software and testing procedures, and the ability to analyze test results and report findings

  • Proven understanding of theory and operations of computer/network system, basic Electrical Test Equipment (Oscilloscope, Power Meters, Logic Analyzer), and LINUX/UNIX operating systems

  • Candidate should possess strong analytical and problem solving skills with good written and verbal communication skills

  • Intermediate level of competence with Microsoft Office (specifically Word, Excel, Power Point and Project)

  • This position requires work on Naval Vessels, both in-port and underway. Employee will be expected to work in confined spaces and climb ladders and steep stairs.

Desired Skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of JAVA Network Tools and/or PYTHON Software

  • Proven operational and hardware experience on any of the following Aegis Weapon System.

  • Experienced with analysis of data extraction and analysis for the Aegis Weapon System.

  • An understanding of US Navy preventive and corrective maintenance procedures and proficiency in reading technical documents is desired

  • Experience with large scale Ship Integration and Test practices

  • Experience collaborating with US Navy personnel and familiarity with command structure

  • Data Analysis and Automated Testing techniques

  • Experience resolving fiber optic, cable, power and cooling issues in equipment

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $79300.00 - $147300.00

The salary range for this position is as listed on the requisition. Please note that the salary information listed is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market(work location) and business considerations when extending an offer.

Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Flexible work arrangements and schedules (e.g., 4x10), 401(k) match, Paid time off, Holidays, Parental Leave, EAP, Flexible Spending Accounts, Education Assistance, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability.

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.

  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
