Job Description

Our client is seeking a Structural Dynamics Analyst that will be responsible for analyzing how spacecraft and aerospace structures respond to dynamic environments including vibration, shock, acoustics, and launch loads. This role will develop finite element models in Nastran, perform modal and structural dynamics analyses, evaluate vehicle performance, and support testing activities to ensure flight hardware meets structural and mission requirements. On a day-to-day basis, the engineer will work closely with design and test teams to model spacecraft components, analyze vibration and acoustic responses, correlate analytical results with test data, and provide recommendations to improve structural integrity, performance, and weight efficiency.

Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in structural dynamics, vibration, and/or launch/space vehicle dynamic analysis.
  • Must be proficient with performing analytical simulations and finite element modeling in Nastran.
  • Proficient in performing static and dynamic analyses such as sine vibration, random vibration, shock, and vibro-acoustic analysis both with FEA and traditional hand calculations.
  • Experience in signal analysis and analyzing data in both the time and frequency domain.
  • Proficient in coding, performing simulations, and analyzing data in Matlab or Python.
  • Experience with vibration, shock, and modal testing, from writing test plans, execution, interpretation of results, and using data to correlate models.
  • Familiarity with relevant SMC / MIL-STD / NASA standards for analysis and test.
  • Experience with Beta CAE products for finite element modeling and data post-processing. (ANSA, META, EPYLISIS)
  • Experience with Simcenter (NX) Nastran
