ERP/SAP Functional Manager

Description

We are looking for an experienced ERP/SAP Functional Manager to oversee functional delivery for a complex enterprise systems program in Metro-Detroit. This position will guide a team of analysts, provide senior-level direction across core business processes, and help drive execution during critical implementation and go-live activities. The ideal candidate brings strong SAP and S/4HANA expertise, hands-on implementation experience, and the leadership skills needed to support long-term platform performance and ongoing improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor the ERP analyst team, setting priorities, resolving functional issues, and ensuring consistent support across business areas.

• Partner with internal stakeholders and external delivery teams to keep implementation activities aligned with project goals, timelines, and operational needs.

• Provide hands-on functional leadership for testing coordination, data readiness, cutover planning, and go-live execution.

• Review business needs and translate them into clear functional direction, documentation, and solution decisions for the SAP environment.

• Support application migration efforts and help manage the transition from project delivery into stable production support and future enhancements.

• Drive issue resolution and decision-making by evaluating risks, dependencies, and impacts across integrated ERP processes.

• Collaborate with technical resources on items involving ABAP development, system configuration, and cross-functional process integration.

• Establish effective change management practices to support user adoption, process consistency, and sustained system value.

Requirements • 7+ years of experience in ERP or SAP functional leadership roles.

• Proven background participating in at least one full SAP implementation lifecycle, including go-live support.

• Strong working knowledge of SAP and S/4HANA business processes in a complex enterprise environment.

• Experience leading analysts or functional team members and providing day-to-day people management.

• Ability to create and interpret business requirement documentation and convert it into practical system solutions.

• Familiarity with testing, data migration, cutover planning, and post-go-live stabilization activities.

• Understanding of application migration concepts and integrated ERP process dependencies.

• Effective collaboration and communication skills when working with business users, technical teams, and leadership. Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®
