Description

The Role

WTW is navigating a period of significant, sustained transformation shaped by global market shifts, advances in technology, AI and automation, and the evolving expectations of our colleagues and clients. Corporate Communication is embedding AI, automation and data more deeply into how work gets done, creating a unique opportunity to help redesign communication and change workflows for greater speed, quality and impact.

This is a hands-on individual contributor role for someone who combines strong communication knowledge with proven experience implementing and developing AI and automation solutions for communication or similar teams. Reporting to the Senior Director, Strategic Projects, Communication, this role will help turn the Corporate Communication AI roadmap into practical, adopted workflows across internal communication and change management, external communications, corporate responsibility, intranet governance, knowledge sharing, communication and change planning, content review, channel management, reporting, leader enablement and colleague self-service.

Working as part of the broader Marketing and Communication (M&C) AI and automation capability – alongside a Shared AI Solutions Developer and the AI and Automation Manager, Corporate Marketing – this role will partner with Communication leaders, Corporate Responsibility, ICCM, External Communication, Intranet Advisory, IT and external vendors to understand current workflows, diagnose friction and assess AI and automation capabilities across the communication technology stack, including Microsoft 365, Copilot, SharePoint, Poppulo, Cision, Watershed, Power BI and Power Apps.

Responsibilities

  • Translate the Corporate Communication AI and automation roadmap into practical, adopted workflows that simplify how communication work gets done and reduce manual effort.

  • Help identify and prioritize workflow improvement opportunities across internal communication and change management, external communications, corporate responsibility, intranet governance, knowledge sharing, communication and change planning, content review, channel management, reporting, leader enablement and colleague self-service.

  • Partner with Communication leaders, Corporate Responsibility, ICCM, External Communication, Intranet Advisory, IT and external vendors to understand current workflows, diagnose friction and design more seamless ways of working.

  • Assess AI and automation capabilities across the communication technology stack – including Microsoft 365, Copilot, SharePoint, Poppulo, Cision, Watershed, Power BI, Power Apps and other vendor platforms – to reduce duplication, improve self-service and support better planning decisions.

  • Work closely with the Shared AI Solutions Developer to translate workflow reviews and business requirements into practical, technically sound solutions, providing communication context and prioritization to guide build decisions.

  • Partner with the AI and Automation Manager, Corporate Marketing to share learnings, avoid duplication of effort and maintain a consistent approach to AI and automation across M&C.

  • Help leaders, colleagues and communication teams use data, audience insight and trend analysis to improve communication and change effectiveness and strengthen planning across channels and audiences.

  • Support adoption through simple guidance, playbooks, training materials and benefit tracking so teams can see what has changed, how to use it and what value it delivers.

  • Champion innovative approaches to communication and change management, leveraging AI, automation, analytics and emerging technologies to enhance colleague experience and organizational effectiveness.

  • Establish measures of success for specific communication efforts – including reduced process complexity, improved cycle times, increased self-service and reduced manual effort – and report progress to the Senior Director, Strategic Projects, Communication, Global Marketing and Communication Operations Lead, and Corporate Communication leadership.

  • Build trusted relationships across Corporate Communication leadership, IT and external vendors.

  • Maintain external benchmarking and market insight on AI, automation and communication trends, bringing best practice into Corporate Communication's roadmap and priorities.

  • Model WTW values – client focus, teamwork, respect, excellence and integrity.

Qualifications

  • Strong, well-rounded communication knowledge, including some combination of internal communication, external communication, change management, corporate responsibility and/or intranet/content governance.

  • Proven experience implementing and developing AI and automation solutions for communication or similar teams, including workflow redesign, process simplification and tool evaluation.

  • Fluency in how AI and automation are reshaping communication work, with experience leveraging AI-enabled tools (such as Copilot or equivalent) to elevate quality, efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Working knowledge of the communication technology landscape (e.g., Microsoft 365, Copilot, SharePoint, Poppulo, Cision, Watershed, Power BI, Power Apps) and the ability to assess capabilities and identify practical improvement opportunities.

  • Ability to translate business needs into clear requirements for a technical developer to build against; comfortable partnering closely with a solutions developer without formal people management responsibility.

  • Strong analytical mindset – adept at using data, audience insight and metrics to identify friction, prioritize opportunities and measure impact.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills; able to build trust and influence communication leaders and colleagues without formal authority.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented and adaptable; skilled at managing multiple concurrent priorities across geographies and time zones.

  • Experience designing adoption support materials, including simple guidance, playbooks and training content.

  • Aptitude to synthesize direction, navigate ambiguity and prioritize actions from a variety of stakeholders.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in communication, marketing, business, technology or a related field.
