MercyOne (https://www.mercyone.org/about-us) is seeking a BC/BE fellowship-trained Pediatric Critical Care Physician to join its well-established service. Serve as a vital resource for critically ill children and their families while working alongside a multidisciplinary team focused on delivering exceptional outcomes. Opportunity Details

  • Practice in a 6-bed PICU with a dedicated procedure room

  • Lead multidisciplinary rounds and manage critically ill pediatric patients

  • Collaborate with pediatric subspecialists across multiple disciplines

  • Support pediatric surgery, trauma, sedation, and emergency care services

  • Teach and mentor APPs, nursing staff, residents, and students

  • Participate in shared home-call coverage

  • Champion quality improvement, patient safety, and evidence-based care

Competitive Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $489,412

  • Recruitment incentive: $150,000

  • Moving allowance: $15,000

  • Annual CME allowance: $6,000

  • Malpractice with tail coverage

  • Retirement options (403B w/ 6.5% match + 457B)

MercyOne Des Moines is composed of 4 central/southern Iowa Hospitals totaling 875 beds and managing 16 rural Hospitals. MercyOne Children’s Hospital encompasses an 8-bed PICU, 62-bed Level III NICU, a level 2 trauma 12 bed Pediatric ED, a 22-bed Medical Surgical Unit, and is supported by several subspecialties including Cardiology, Neurology, Surgery and Gastroenterology. Additionally, MercyOne Medical Center has a tertiary service of 1.5 million and its maternity care includes 15 dedicated labor suites and 40 private postpartum rooms.
