Well Testing & Flowback Field Technician

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Location: Bakersfield, CA

Schedule: Full-Time | Field-Based Position

Job Overview

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Well Testing & Flowback Field Technician to join our growing team. This position is responsible for supporting well testing and flowback operations by safely rigging up equipment, monitoring production data, troubleshooting field issues, and assisting with the handling of produced fluids.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with oilfield, mechanical, or industrial experience who wants to build a long-term career in the energy industry. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work outdoors in a fast-paced field environment.

Responsibilities

  • Rig up, operate, monitor, and rig down well testing and flowback equipment.

  • Monitor and record oil, gas, and water production rates, pressures, temperatures, and fluid levels.

  • Assist with troubleshooting mechanical and operational issues in the field.

  • Support the storage, transportation, and disposal of produced fluids.

  • Complete daily reports and production logs accurately.

  • Follow all company, customer, environmental, and safety procedures.

  • Perform basic maintenance and repairs on equipment and tools.

  • Participate in Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO) procedures and other safety initiatives.

  • Safely use hand tools, power tools, and oilfield equipment.

  • Work closely with crew members to ensure efficient and safe operations.

  • Conduct routine inspections and assist with equipment upkeep.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Valid Driver's License

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, climbing, and extended periods standing

  • Strong attention to detail and safety

  • Basic computer skills for reporting and data entry

Preferred:

  • 1+ year of oilfield, industrial, construction, or mechanical experience

  • Previous well testing or flowback experience

  • Experience working with separators, tanks, piping, and valves

  • Familiarity with Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO) procedures

  • Experience using hand tools and power tools

  • Willingness to learn and grow within the organization

Work Environment

This position is based in and around Bakersfield, CA and requires working outdoors on active oilfield locations. Employees regularly work around production equipment, pressurized systems, tanks, separators, and pipelines. The role can be physically demanding and requires adherence to strict safety procedures while working in changing weather conditions.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bakersfield, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
