Job Description Summary

Anesthesia and ventilation delivery technology:

Build life-critical embedded software. Our software runs in anesthesia delivery systems and related vaporizer technologies used by clinicians every day.

We are looking for a software engineer who is interested in embedded systems and wants to grow into a systems-focused role. You do not need to be an expert in medical devices today. You should, however, be curious about how software, electronics, sensors, actuators, and real-time behavior come together in a physical product.

This role includes feature development, product enhancements, system integration, automated testing, and investigation of product issues. You will work with experienced engineers and gradually take ownership of embedded components and system functions. The long-term goal is to develop engineers who understand both the technology and the anesthesia and ventilation-delivery domain.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, test, and maintain embedded software for anesthesia systems and associated vaporizer products.

  • Develop software in C++ for RTOS and Embedded Linux environments.

  • Integrate software with processors, sensors, actuators, communication interfaces, and other product subsystems.

  • Debug problems that cross software, operating-system, communication, and hardware boundaries.

  • Contribute to automated testing, development tools, CI/CD pipelines, design reviews, and code reviews.

  • Collaborate with systems, hardware, cybersecurity, quality, clinical, and software engineering teams.

  • Work with global teams on common embedded platforms and reusable software.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • 2+ years of software development experience.

  • Experience developing software in C++.

  • Demonstrated interest in embedded systems through work, academic projects, research, internships, robotics, controls, electronics, or personal projects.

  • Basic understanding of software design, debugging, testing, and version control.

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with an RTOS, Embedded Linux, ARM-based systems, or hardware/software integration.

  • Experience developing software for embedded systems, robotics, controls, or other hardware-based products.

  • Experience with automated testing, Python, Git, GitLab, or continuous integration.

  • Experience in medical devices or another regulated industry.

  • Interest in learning the medical-device industry and developing deep knowledge of anesthesia and ventilation delivery.

We expect all employees to live and breathe our behaviors: to act with humility and build trust; lead with transparency; deliver with focus, and drive ownership –always with unyielding integrity.
