Full job description
Who we are. Reality Defender is an award-winning cybersecurity company helping enterprises and governments detect deepfakes and AI-generated media. Utilizing a patented multi-model approach, Reality Defender is robust against the bleeding edge of generative platforms producing video, audio, imagery, and text media. Reality Defender's API-first deepfake detection platform empowers teams and developers alike to identify fraud, disinformation campaigns, and harmful deepfakes in real time. Backed by world class investors including DCVC, Illuminate Financial, Y Combinator, Booz Allen Hamilton, IBM, Accenture, Rackhouse, and Argon VC, Reality Defender works with leading enterprise clients, financial institutions, and governments in order to ensure AI-generated media is not used for malicious purposes. Youtube: Reality Defender Wins RSA Most Innovative Startup The Product Manager Role. Reality Defender is looking for a Product Manager to turn world-class detection research into products that security, fraud, and identity teams can deploy and trust. You'll own the roadmap for our API-first detection platform — the APIs, SDKs, web app, and integrations that put our models into call centers, video meetings, onboarding flows, and content pipelines — working hand-in-hand with AI Research, Engineering, and our go-to-market team. This is a full-time role based at our NYC headquarters, reporting to VP of Product. Responsibilities include:
-
Own the product roadmap for one of our deepfake detection products, prioritizing across customer needs, emerging deepfake threats, and technical feasibility — and making the tradeoffs explicit.
-
Translate what enterprise and government customers need into clear requirements and shipped features.
-
Partner with AI Research and the Red Team to turn model improvements and new threat findings into customer-facing capabilities, with clear success metrics for accuracy, latency, and adoption.
-
Define and track the product metrics that matter (usage, activation, retention, detection performance in the field), and use them to decide what to build next.
-
Support Sales and Solutions Engineering in strategic deals, security reviews, and customer validations, bringing product insight back to the roadmap.
-
Partner with Marketing on positioning, launches, and competitive differentiation in a fast-moving category.
-
Work with Engineering and Partnerships on platform integrations with communications, identity, and collaboration platforms.
-
Help bring product requirements into compliance and procurement conversations with regulated and public-sector buyers.
Who you are.
-
4+ years of product management experience, ideally on a technical B2B product such as an API, developer platform, or security tool.
-
A track record of shipping ML or AI products, with enough technical fluency to work credibly with researchers and engineers on model tradeoffs (accuracy, false positives, latency, cost).
-
Experience selling into or building for enterprise buyers, and comfort in customer conversations with technical and executive stakeholders.
-
Strong product judgment: you can set priorities with incomplete information, say no clearly, and explain why.
-
Excellent written communication — your specs, roadmaps, and updates are clear enough that people across the company act on them without a follow-up meeting.
-
Experience in cybersecurity, fraud prevention, identity verification, or trust & safety. (nice to have)
-
Familiarity with audio, video, or real-time communications technology (telephony, WebRTC, conferencing platforms). (nice to have)
-
Experience selling to government or highly regulated customers, or at a Series A/B startup where scope regularly outpaces headcount. (nice to have)
Within 12 months, you'll…
-
Own a roadmap that measurably drives revenue, retention, and expansion.
-
Have built a product development rhythm (discovery, prioritization, launch, measurement) that the broader team relies on.
-
Be recognized internally and by key customers as the go-to owner for your product area.
-
Be identifying the next set of product opportunities as the deepfake threat landscape evolves.
