Teacher’s Assistant – Large Child Care Home

Location: Aurora, Colorado Position Type: Part-Time / Flexible Full-Time (Approx. 30.5 hours/week) Pay Range: $18.00 -- $24.00 / hour (commensurate with qualifications and experience) Start Date: Immediate ### About Us We are a fully licensed Large Child Care Home located in Aurora, Colorado, dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for young children. We focus on early learning, active play, and foster social and emotional growth in a warm, home-based setting. We are seeking a reliable, caring, and professional Teacher's Assistant to join our team right away! ### Work Schedule Total Weekly Hours: ~30.5 hours per week (Monday -- Friday) - Monday, Thursday, Friday: 9:00 AM -- 5:30 PM - Tuesday, Wednesday: 3:00 PM -- 5:30 PM ### Key Responsibilities - Direct Supervision & Care: Assist the Lead Teacher in supervising children during indoor and outdoor activities to ensure safety at all times. - Activity Facilitation: Assist in leading crafts, reading time, outdoor play, and educational games tailored to different developmental stages. - Routine Management: Help manage daily routines including meal/snack setup, naptime prep, diapering/potty breaks, and transitions between activities. - Cleanliness & Safety: Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized environment following Colorado child care licensing standards. - Communication: Maintain positive, professional interactions with children, parents, and fellow staff members. ### Qualifications & Requirements - Experience: Prior experience working with infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children in a licensed child care center, home care, or classroom setting preferred. - Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Early Childhood Education (ECE) coursework or CDA credential is a major plus. - Certifications (or willingness to obtain upon hire): - Current CPR & First Aid Certification. - Standard Colorado Early Childhood pre-service trainings (Standard Precautions, Medication Administration, etc.). - Background Check: Must be able to pass a Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) background check, FBI fingerprinting, and Child Abuse and Neglect Tracking System (CANTS) screening. - Skills: Reliable, punctual, patient, physically active (able to lift up to 35 lbs, bend, and sit on the floor with children), and a strong team player. ### Compensation & Perks - Hourly Rate: $18.00 -- $24.00/hr (determined by ECE qualifications, certifications, and experience) - Consistent weekday schedule (no late nights or weekends) - Warm, supportive, and collaborative home-based work environment -
