Basic Job Functions:

The Business Management System Coordinator supports the Business Management System Supervisor in the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Quality, Environmental, and Safety Management Systems, as well as process improvement initiatives, in alignment with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and customer-specific requirements. The Coordinator must build strong working relationships with area managers, supervisors, operators, and teammates across the plant; spend time in the mill with operators weekly and take the initiative to fully understand each areas processes; and serve as the management system point of contact for assigned areas, including presenting information to leadership. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Conducting system, manufacturing process, product, and layered process audits, and working with area teams to follow findings through to closure

Maintaining QMS, EMS, and SMS documents and records, including area FMEAs and control plans, with correct version control and retention

Tracking corrective and preventive actions, KPIs, and objectives, and identifying risks and gaps in assigned areas

Supporting training needs, onboarding, calibration and gage needs, and follow-up on open actions

Supporting customer and third-party audits, continual improvement projects, MSA studies, PPAP, and process and product change documentation

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 years of manufacturing experience working within a formal management system or quality related field.

  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint; basic database/query skills.

  • Ability to spend time in the mill with operators weekly and access all areas of the site while wearing required PPE.

  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

  • Flexibility for periodic travel to best mark and take required courses.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a support, coordinator, or internal-customer role where success depended on relationships across departments.

  • 3+ years with a formal management system, ideally in steel or heavy manufacturing.

  • ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 internal or lead auditor, ISO 14001 internal auditor, or ASQ CQA.

  • Demonstrated use of AIAG core tools.

  • Experience supporting automotive OEM customer audits.
